Yee-ha.
Time once more for those really goofy local ads from car dealerships, furniture stores and the like featuring actors dressed up like Honest Abe and Cannot-Tell-A-Lie George. Trust us, we're giving you the best deal!
I wonder how many consumers actually save that precious day off to go buy a new car. Or a new dining room set? I don't know.
What I do know is kids today get short-changed on the day-off front.
I mean President's Day is basically a mashup of two former holidays--Lincoln's Birthday and Washington's Birthday. Back in the day kids got both days off, Feb. 12 and Feb. 22.
What a ripoff!
Actually, that sounds like something our current president would tweet about. You know, something vitally important to the national interest.
Happy No Collusion Day.
