VML has appointed Jason Xenopoulos to the new position of Global Chief Vision Officer and Chief Creative Officer of VML’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Xenopoulos is tasked with steering the WPP agency’s long-term vision and global positioning across its global network, which spans 33 offices across six continents.
As to this second role, Chief Creative Officer, EMEA, Xenopoulos will work with Global Chief Creative Officer Debbi Vandeven as the shop’s creative product evolves.
Also, working with Jon Sharpe, CEO of VML Europe, Xenopoulos will foster relationships with the region’s key clients, manage and develop creative leadership across EMEA and help drive growth at the agency. He will sit on VML’s global creative council, which helps guide creative teams.
“Jason’s ability to steer our future across the connected consumer experience will be a great asset for the entire VML global network,” stated VML Global CEO Jon Cook. “He has been a valued partner across our offices, capabilities and leadership over the last six years.”
Xenopoulos will remain based out of VML South Africa’s office in Cape Town, reporting to Cook and Vandeven.
In 2010, Xenopoulos co-founded Native, which was acquired by VML in 2013. He has served as CEO and Chief Creative Officer of VML South Africa since then.
Jarred Cinman has been promoted to succeed Xenopoulos as CEO VML South Africa, while Diane Wilson has been elevated to the office’s deputy CEO post and Ryan McManus has been upped to Chief Creative Officer.
