McCann Taps Maicon For NA Strategy Role

McCann has appointed Lee Maicon Chief Strategy Officer for North America. He joins from Dentsu Aegis Network’s 360i, where he served in the same role, as well as head of the agency’s business consulting practice. 

Maicon succeeds Steve Zaroff, who left last year for a similar post at Ogilvy. 

In his new role,Maicon will lead the agency’s strategic planning team, shoulder responsibilities for the agency brand itself, and be a core member of both the North American leadership team and the McCann Worldgroup global strategic leadership community. 

Maicon joined 360i in 2010 as vice president, insights and planning, and rose to his current position in 2014. Born in Mexico and raised in Miami, he began his career as an account planner at the Hispanic marketing agency Conill Advertising.

He has subsequently worked in top strategy positions in both general-market and multicultural agencies, as well as in PR. He joined 360i from Grey Group’s Wing multicultural agency, where he was head of strategy.
