The FCA, the UK's financial watchdog, has contacted WPP to seek assurances that the sums of money Sir Martin Sorrell was alleged to have misappropriated were not large enough to have an impact on its
share price. The FCA does not directly regulate companies beyond the financial services industry but does have a remit to ensure listed businesses do not break insider trading rules.
