Famed Ad Man Rescues Damsels In Distress

The New York Postreports that Donny Deutsch of Deutsch agency fame got into a bit of a kerfuffle earlier in the week at New York City’s Polo Bar, part of the Ralph Lauren Empire and home to the $28 burger.

Deutsch was having a fine time and at some point during the evening, bought a round for a group of ladies seated at a table. He can certainly afford it, having splurged for $20 million (or thereabouts) on homes in both New York City and the Hamptons.

Anyway, things were going swimmingly until some lug started bothering the ladies that Deutsch had bought the round for. As the NYP reported, the lug was being a bit of a jerk, so Donny went over to the table and told him to move on.

When he didn’t, Deutsch grabbed him by the throat and screamed “let’s take this outside!” per the newspaper's sources. People intervened and the lug was shown the door.

So let that be a lesson to you Adlanders: Chivalry lives!

As all you ad veterans know, Deutsch took the reins of the agency in 1989, bringing it to new heights until 2005, when Linda Sawyer took over. (His dad founded the shop in 1969.) The agency was acquired by Interpublic in 2000 for an estimated $250 million to $300 million. Like I said, he can afford to buy a round or two.

After handing the CEO mantle to Sawyer, who left in 2016, Deutsch focused on TV, although he held the title of chairman of the agency until 2015.

He hosted CNBC’s "The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch" in the aughts. He also appeared in a sitcom and remains a CNBC and MSNBC contributor.

Deepthroats at the agency informed me he was a massive "Blow" addict... And his sitcom bombed after one season. Still, he is fucking rich.
