Y Media Labs (YML) is poaching SapientRazorfish's Jason Rzutkiewicz to serve as senior vice president, client services. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for expanding the experience design agency’s service offering and landing new clients, while helping to bolster the company's emerging technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality.
In addition, he will oversee the agency's client services, product and program management teams.
Most recently, Rzutkiewicz was managing partner at SapientRazorfish in San Francisco where he was responsible for strategic leadership, revenue growth and operational improvement across a team of more than 100 employees. Prior to that he was group vice president, client partner, leading the retail and commerce practices on the West coast and managing client relationships for brands such as Adobe, Choice Hotels, Sephora, Walmart and Wells Fargo.
Rzutkiewicz is the latest of several senior executives to depart SapientRazorfish in the last couple of months. Bill Hughes, formerly vice president creative talent at the agency left for Accenture Interactive's MXM as creative operations director. Ian Sohn former managing director, Chicago left to become president, Wunderman, Chicago. And tech and innovation lead Ned Russell joined MDC Partners as managing partner healthcare.
Rzutkiewicz says he sought out a more "nimble" shop versus one aligned with a large holding company structure. "I was looking for one that could more quickly innovate, experiment and chart new courses to meet clients' and their consumers' changing needs more regularly," he says.
