Orlando Police Shelve Amazon's Face Recognition Software

The Orlando Police Department has decide to shelve a pilot of Amazon’s Rekognition face recognition software. The move follows a backlash from civil rights groups and Amazon employees, Gizmodo reports. “But while officials say Orlando’s contract with Amazon has expired, they have left the door open to partner with Amazon again,” it notes.
