Refinery29, Aerie Team For "Unstyled" Podcast's Third Season

Refinery29 has partnered with Aerie, American Eagle Outfitters’ lingerie and activewear brand, for the third season launch of its “Unstyled” podcast.

It’s the first brand partnership for the podcast, which covers style and culture. "Unstyled" is hosted by Refinery29’s global editor-in-chief-cofounder, Christene Barberich.

“Partnering with Aerie, a brand that supports inclusivity through style, just as we do, means we’re able to bring more of these stories to light through the podcast and have these essential discussions with our audience,” Barberich stated.

“Here at Aerie, we love to ignite and inspire our girls to be real – whether that means having a meaningful conversation, sharing life experiences, or expressing their personal style,” added Stacey McCormick, senior vice president, Aerie Marketing. “Refinery29 has a beautiful way of weaving women’s stories with fashion – partnering on their newest season of UnStyled, felt like a great connection.”

The "UnStyled" podcast kicked off its first episode this week with J. Crew’s former president and creative director Jenna Lyons.

The third season will also feature women such as Lena Dunham, Aly Raisman, Misty Copeland, Hanya Yanagihara, Katja Blichfeld, Hilaria Baldwin, Tess Holliday, Cynthia Erivo, Jen Foyle and Busy Phillips.

Barberich praised the women who are "truly driving conversations and shifting culture, as well as redefining their own brand of personal style and power through purpose.”

Season three will feature a live episode recording with TV personality-entrepreneur-author Bethenny Frankel, at this year’s Advertising Week NY on October 2.

“UnStyled” season three premieres at an interesting time. BuzzFeed recently announced it is cutting its in-house podcast production teams. Refinery29 isn’t the only publisher committed to podcasts. Vox announced its fall slate this week, doubling the volume of podcast programming.
