Fox News Taps TV Talent For Fox Nation Streaming Service

Fox News Channel’s upcoming subscription streaming service, Fox Nation, is turning to the cable channel’s roster of hosts and analysts for its programming.

The company announced a slate of short and long-form programming for the service, which will launch later this fall.

Among those confirmed to host or co-host shows are prime-time hosts Laura Ingraham (who will co-host with regular guest Raymond Arroyo) and Sean Hannity. Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and political analyst Brit Hume will also be on board.

A panel show called “Deep Dive” will examine the day’s political news, while “Un-PC” will discuss politics, sports and entertainment, hosted by conservative commentator Britt McHenry and former WWE wrestler and Fox News regular Tyrus.

Fox Nation will also allow subscribers to stream Fox News Radio programming. Audio from Fox News shows is available on a 30-minute delay.

Fox Nation is an ambitious bet on streaming video from the cable news channel, part of an effort to “super-serve” fans of the channel’s conservative opinion programming. To that end, Fox Nation is forgoing news broadcasts to focus on that commentary, and long-form documentary programming.

Fox Nation’s live schedule also appears carefully designed not to overlap with Fox News Channel’s signature opinion shows.

A morning show at 7 a.m. “Primetime Highlights,” serves clips from the prior night’s prime-time lineup, in order to avoid competing with “Fox & Friends.” A “Fox & Friends” after-show will stream after the TV show ends.

Fox Nation’s live schedule ends before 8 p.m., allowing viewers to tune into the cabler's prime-time lineup.

Competitors in the streaming news space, such as CBSN and Cheddar, are more news-focused, and generally don’t have opinion programming.

The short-form programming joins a slate of long-form programming that Fox Nation announced a few weeks ago. That slate includes documentaries about the Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, a show called “The First Family” that profiles members of President Trump’s family, and other series about the fall of Saddam Hussein, Chappaquiddick and Jimmy Hoffa.

A launch date and pricing have not yet been announced. The service will launch without advertising, though sponsorships could be added in time.
