Collier Exits, AMC Promotes 3 Senior Execs

In the wake of Charlie Collier's departure to head Fox entertainment, AMC Networks has promoted three executives to senior executive roles.

Sarah Barnett, currently president-general manager, BBC America, will become president, entertainment networks for the company. She will now oversee AMC, BBC America, SundanceTV and IFC.

Previously, she had been president-general manager of Sundance TV. She will continue to report to Ed Carroll, COO, AMC Networks.

David Madden will become president, programming for all AMC Networks and its studios: AMC, SundanceTV BBC America and IFC and AMC Studios. He had been president of programming for AMC, Sundance TV and AMC Studios. 

Before this, he had been president, programming at Fox and president of Fox Television Studios.

Linda Schupack is now president of marketing for entertainment networks. Schupack had been executive vice president, marketing for AMC and SundanceTV.

Over a week ago -- in somewhat of a surprise -- Fox went outside the company to name Charlie Collier, president/GM of AMC Networks, as its new CEO, entertainment. The move is part of a restructuring as Fox sells off about half of its movie and TV businesses to Walt Disney.

Collier is overseeing the Fox Broadcasting Network and the company’s entertainment programming strategy across live, scripted and non-scripted content.
