Calling All 'Big-Hearted, Age-Defying, Lives-Life-To-The-Fullest And Brings-Out-The-Best-In-Everyone' Grandmas

GE Appliances is on the hunt for a new brand ambassador, but not just anyone.

Nope, first of all, it helps to be female. With at least one kid who’s had a kid.

That’s right — the appliance maker, now owned by Haier, is looking for what it’s calling the “Great American Grandma” to help hawk its state-of-the art wares.

The pay isn’t bad — a $50,000 salary — especially considering the light workload, just 10 to 15 hours a month. And the company is throwing in a bunch of its appliances too, presumably top-of-the-line “smart" ones.

Good work, if you can get it!

You can apply online (or an admirer can apply for you). All you really need is a video of your “big-hearted, age-defying, lives-life-to-the-fullest and brings-out-the-best-in-everyone” self.

Oh, and it helps if you can cook. As in “doesn’t need a cookbook to whip up hundreds of delicious recipes” kind of cook.

I imagine the company is going to get a lot of qualified candidates uploading videos at the application site. It got the ball rolling at CES, where 30 candidates applied at the show.

But wait, can’t grandpas cook. too? I’m not a grandpa, but I can cook. Maybe not a “doesn’t need a cookbook to whip up hundreds of delicious recipes” kind of cook.

Oh, never mind.
