Great Clips Aligns With X Games, Airstream With Spartan Race

Two major brands announced sponsorships of extreme sporting events. 

Spartan and Airstream’s partnership includes #SpartanConfessionals Airstream Giveaway.

Great Clips, which has 4,300 salons and claims to be the world’s largest salon brand, becomes the Official Retail Salon partner for 2019 X Games events in Aspen and Minneapolis.

Beginning at X Games Aspen this weekend, Great Clips will receive on-site branding spanning the X Games app, Jumbotron, billboards and athlete bibs, as well as a consumer-facing brand experience at X Games Minneapolis’ X Fest this summer.

Great Clips will also receive branding and integrations during X Games event telecasts on ESPN and XGames.com.

And Great Clips will also provide fans with commentary from some of the biggest names competing at the X Games through custom video content to air on ESPN and online channels

The first is a video starring four-time X Games medalist James Woods that documents the skier’s experience getting a new haircut -- courtesy of Great Clips -- and explores his preparation for X Games Aspen.

An interview video featuring two-time X Games medalist and snowboarder, Sage Kostenburg, will also be released during X Games Aspen, with additional content planned for X Games Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, Airstream, maker of the iconic “silver bullet” travel trailer, rolls into Spartan endurance and obstacle events across the U.S. 

The #SpartanConfessionals Airstream Giveaway encourages Spartan athletes of all skill levels and backgrounds to share their transformational stories and the inspiration that drives them to race.

To enter the contest, racers participating in Spartan’s upcoming events in Southern California Jan. 26-27, Arizona Feb. 9-10, Las Vegas March 9-10 and San Jose March 16-17 can rest and recover from the race in a spacious Airstream with comfortable amenities and healthy snacks while discussing their experience in front of a camera.

Spartans can also enter by posting their story on social media. One winner will be selected at random and announced at the San Jose race. 

Airstream President and CEO Bob Wheeler says the partnership makes sense since Airstream is a brand that encourages consumers to get outdoors, be active and thrive in positive community environments.

“Our Basecamp line is made for exploration and is built tough, like Spartan athletes, and we hope the winner of this Giveaway will utilize this trailer to tap into their adventurous side,” Wheeler stated.
