CM Group Acquires Vuture, Raises $410 Million In Funding

CM Group -- a firm comprised of Campaign Monitor, Delivra, Emma, Liveclickr and Sailthru -- has acquired Vuture, a cross-channel marketing platform for the legal services business. Terms were not disclosed.

In addition, CM Group has completed $410 million in new financing -- capital that it says will go towardt future acquisitions.

The purchase, completed this month, brings the CM Group head count to 600 employees. All Vuture staffers will remain on board.

In addition, CM Group gains 400 new customers -- with 200 in the U.S., including the Big Four consulting firms and professional service providers such as Savills, Winstead and Akin Gump. CM Group has 300,000 customers overall.

Vuture’s platform supports event management, content management, payments, alumni tracking, and surveys, the company says.

“The idea for Vuture was born out of a need to transform the delivery of traditional marketing activities and embrace the energy of modern technology,”  states David Brady, CEO of Vuture.

The purchase is in line with CM Group’s mission to build a portfolio of  “customer-focused email and multichannel technologies,” states Wellford Dillard, CEO of CM Group.

Dillard adds that “there are over 7,000 martech companies in the space today, making it nearly impossible for marketers to navigate the technology buying process with confidence.”
