Agari, an email cloud security provider, has named Doug Jones to the position of chief business development and strategy officer, a newly created title.

Jones, who has served the firm as an advisor from its early days almost a decade ago, is tasked with bringing the firm’s offering “deeper into the technology vendor ecosystem," states CEO Patrick Peterson.

In his previous post, Jones was CEO at GrandCanals, Inc., a recently acquired company.

Jones will work out of Agari’s Foster City, California headquarters and will report to Peterson.
