Specifically, Facebook will no longer let the Chinese tech giant preinstall phones with its family of apps, including Instagram and WhatsApp, according to a report in Reuters, which noted that Huawei phones with existing Facebook apps should still be able to receive updates.
Facebook’s move coincides with a decision by the Trump administration to ban U.S. companies from working with Huawei.
Not all U.S. tech companies are thrilled with the decision, however. Google, for one, is lobbying for the right to continue working with Huawei, the Financial Times reports.
At present, Huawei remains the world’s second-largest smartphone maker, according to recent figures from IDC.
