Vonage Adds Email To Its API In Partnership With Sendinblue

Cloud communications provider Vonage is adding email capabilities to Nexmo, its API platform, in an alliance with Sendinblue.

The objective is to bolster the number of channels Vonage offers, states Eric Le Guiniec, SVP Global Sales for Nexmo.

Nexmo will also now serve as the sole SMS provider for Sendinblue.

Armand Thiberge, CEO of Sendinblue, says the arrangement provides “an alternative to transactional messaging solutions,” while accelerating Sendinblue’s global market growth.

Vonage can now support programmable email campaigns and direct communication of urgent messages or time-sensitive offers, the company says. Nexmo also supports SMS, OTT, chat, video, voice and more.

In addition to email, Sendinblue offers CRM software and help with Facebook ads, retargeting display ads, live chat and collaborative mailboxes.

The firm says its platform sends 40 million emails per day and 5 million SMS messages per month, while complying with GDPR.

"Customer engagement in today's hyper-connected world has expanded beyond voice, video and social to include marketing, sales, service and other domains,” states Raul Castanon-Martinez, senior analyst, 451 Research.

He adds that “businesses must build connections between all of these capabilities.”

The Vonage-Sendinblue partnership “complements Vonage's portfolio, layering email into other channels,” Castanon-Martinez continues.

Vonage is active in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
