Comcast has announced that its Xfinity Stream
is beta-launching on LG smart TVs from 2017, 2018 and 2019.
In separate news, it announced that the Fox Nation SVOD service is now available on a paid basis through Xfinity.
The LG
smart TV launch is part of Xfinity’s three-year-old partner devices program.
Xfinity Stream is already available on Roku devices and some Samsung TV models, and Comcast has said that
there will soon be a Sony smart TVs beta launch.
Comcast’s blog explains that the Xfinity Stream
app’s availability is limited at present because not all device models meet the minimum hardware requirements for the app, but Comcast continues to work with equipment manufacturers to expand
availability.
Accessing Xfinity Stream — which provides access to live, on-demand and DVR content in 4K Ultra HD as well as standard-definition content — requires buying the
Xfinity TV package.
Separately, Comcast said that Fox Nation can now be accessed by Xfinity customers for $5.99 per month via Xfinity on Demand, on the Xfinity Stream app, and for
internet-only customers, on Xfinity Flex.
X1 and Flex customers with an Xfinity Voice Remote can say “Fox Nation” to launch the service.
