If You Can Afford Bottle Of Jim Beam, You Can Stay At Its Kentucky Guest House

If you’re looking for a really cheap and interesting day out of town, you might want to check out Airbnb on Monday.

That's when Jim Beam bourbon will offer a stay at its American Stillhouse cottage.

“Built in 1919 with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, the distillery's rustic house comes equipped with a fully stocked bar featuring premium Jim Beam bourbons, fireplace, backyard with cowboy cauldrons and fishing docks,”  according to the company. The Clermont, Kentucky-based home overlooks Everbach Lake.

All this for -- get this -- $23 for the night, which happens to be the price of a premium, extra-aged bottle of Jim Beam Black Bourbon.

"There's no better time to experience bourbon country than during the cool, crisp months of fall, so we're welcoming bourbon fans to join the Beam family during an overnight stay at our home in the rolling hills of Kentucky,” says Fred Noe, Jim Beam's seventh generation master distiller, in a statement.

Usually the home is occupied by friends and relatives of the Beam family.

“We do not intend to use this visit for promotional videos/advertising,” a spokesman for Jim Beam explained to Marketing Daily. “The sole premise of this offering is to give bourbon fans the opportunity to join the Beam family for a day and experience what it’s like to be a master distiller.”

The offer has generated received a ton of earned media since Wednesday, with stories on major wire services, local newscasts, and magazine websites.

“We’re thrilled with the coverage that has come through over the last couple of days and the media verticals it has touched,” the spokesman said. “From men’s interest, to travel to food & beverage media, this offering has been shared in verticals who typically may not cover Jim Beam news.”

The cottage can house up to three couples, who will also feast on dinner from the on-premise Fred’s Steakhouse, which serves bourbon-barbecued meals. Also included is a special distillery tour and bourbon tasting.

 Alas, transportation is not included.

The deal is being offered on a first-come basis for what the company says is a limited number of dates through the end of the year. The Airbnb website currently lists two sets of dates: Nov. 23-24 and Dec. 7-8.
