The Guardian is reporting that Newsquest is now being considered the "frontrunner" to take over JPI Media's local newspapers. "The Mirror" owner, Reach, has gone public on its bid to buy the
newspaper group for a reported GBP50m, which Newsquest is now believed to have bettered.
