PrivacyCheq Debuts CCPA Compliance Software

PrivacyCheq has launched a SaaS product to help businesses that gather data on California citizens comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)..

The new solution, Privacy UX for CCPA, enables firms to comply with operational requirements for transparency, preference and rights management, and downstream opt-out verification.

Built on PrivacyCheq's ConsentCheq platform, Privacy UX for CCPA, also allows brands to build “trust-building experiences” on mobile devices, states PrivacyCheq CEO Roy Smith.

PrivacyUX allows firms to conserve consumer opt-out preferences in a secure database. In addition, the managed API supports downstream opt-out notification of third parties. The tool can be implemented in four to six weeks.

The solution also works with other PrivacyCheq services to help users comply with COPPA (US Federal Child Privacy), SB220 (State of Nevada) and GDPR (EU) regulations, the firm says.

Smith adds, "Since private data is gathered from a wide variety of touchpoints, not just websites, so-called 'cookie' opt out services offer a risky, incomplete solution."

He continues, "Modern enterprises must be able to process opt out requests from websites, mobile apps, Internet of Things devices, email, telemarketing and even from physical locations like hospitality and retail sites where private data is ingested."

Smith notes that, since January 1, "consumers' privacy preferences must be gathered and conserved so they can be honored in the future each time data is 'sold'."
