Alex Bogusky Reengineers His Role At CPB

Eighteen months ago, creative wunderkind Alex Bogusky rejoined the agency — CPB — he helped make famous. The agency created a new role for him in his second act: Chief Creative Engineer.

Now he’s reengineering his career path and lifestyle — and stepping down from his full-time position at the agency.

But he’s not leaving entirely and will maintain an office at the agency in Boulder, Colorado, serving as a sort of informal advisor while working on outside projects.

The agency has shrunk from its heyday. In recent years, it's shuttered offices in Miami and Los Angeles. It remains based in Boulder and has outposts in London and a couple of other overseas locales.

Bogusky’s advertising career began when he joined Crispin and Porter Advertising in 1989 as an art director. He became the creative director five years later, a partner in 1997, and co-chairman in 2008.

In 2010, Adweek named him creative director of the decade.

Erik Sollenberg, Global CEO, CPB  stated: “Alex will forever be a part of our agency’s culture and who we are as a company. He was instrumental in putting us on the map, and we created a new position 18 months ago (Chief Creative Engineer) to draw from his bold thinking as we shaped our next chapter.

"Now we’re celebrating his next chapter, as he and his wife Ana enter a new phase of their lives, and he transitions from his everyday role at the agency over the next few months.”

"But he’s not leaving entirely and will maintain an office at the agency in Boulder, CO, serving as a sort of informal advisor while working on outside projects." Exactly what the heck does that mean? Sounds like "Trump - Speak" to me. In other words... Bullshit.
