Following the successful opening of its beta store in
Dallas, 7-Eleven is scaling its Evolution Store concept.
The stores serve as real-time experiential testing labs where shoppers check the retailer’s latest innovations in new store
formats.
The stores provide mobile checkout so customers can skip the checkout counter.
"These stores are invaluable learning labs, where new concepts are tailored to meet the needs of
the communities they will serve from sunny southern California to the fast-paced world of the East Coast," stated 7-Eleven executive vice president and chief operating officer Chris
Tanco. "We will evolve based on customer feedback.”
As part of the 1,000-store acquisition from Sunoco in 2018, 7-Eleven got the Laredo Taco Company, now located in both concept stores,
one in Washington, D.C., and the other in Dallas.
