Mailprotector Raises $5 Million In Funding

Email security company Mailprotector has raised $5 million in growth equity funding from Ballast Point Ventures.

The decade-old firm will use the money for product development and expansion, and plans to add 30 positions in its Greenville, South Carolina headquarters and around the country.

The firm offers an encryption product called Bracket. Its other tools include CloudFilter, SafeSend, SecureStore, XtraMail, CloudMail, Exchange+.

“We know that email is still the prime vector for cyber-attacks, especially financially crippling ransomware and phishing threats,” states Mailprotector founder and CEO David Setzer.

The new funding will help the firm “supercharge” its product development, Setzer adds.
