Proving again that even the worst scenarios also present opportunities, MediaVillage.com has launched a site designed to help media companies host virtual upfronts during the coronavirus
outbreak.
(At the same time, the Interactive Advertising Bureau has also just announced that it will offer media companies
virtual presentation options for their digital NewFront presentations.)
MediaVillage is a B2B consulting and content/resources business founded by former CBS executive Jack Myers.
The
new site, VirtualUpfront.com, is a response to the growing number of cancellations of live upfronts
due to the outbreak, including by AMC Networks, A+E Networks and Fox News Channel.
The site is designed to enable media companies to host upfront presentation materials, and livestream the
presentation to clients, prospects and others around the world.
In addition to livestreaming, services available through the hub will include maintaining a company’s branded upfront
presentations/content archives, in on-demand, “search-friendly” formats; hosting ancillary events such as executive video conferences, webinars and virtual “lunch and learn”
sessions; enabling targeted invitations, promotions and content marketing; and managing earned media coverage.
