Effie Worldwide’s 2020 Global Best of the Best Effie Awards was meant to be a fresh new program, eligible to all 2019 Gold winners from its 50+ global awards programs, to determine the world’s most effective marketing efforts.

Now, the program’s inaugural debut, culminating with a September gala, is yet another victim of the COVID-19 pandemic. Show organizers are postponing the program until 2021 with entries already submitted this year rolling over to next year’s program.

“Our top priority right now is to protect the health and wellbeing of our teams, families and communities,” says Traci Alford, Global President & CEO, Effie Worldwide. “The Global Best of the Best Effies will go ahead when the time is right and we emerge on the other side of this crisis.”

Effie’s network of national and regional programs around the world operate on independent timelines and are currently in different phases of their respective 2020 awards programs. Under this rescheduling, each Effie market will move forward on an individual basis by addressing the needs of the industry based on their unique circumstances.

However, all Effie judging events and award ceremonies will be either held virtually or postponed for a minimum of five months.
