In this, the ninth and last edition of a special COVID-19 series, IPG Media Lab's "Floor 9" media futures podcast, the lab chats with Warren Webster, CEO of Atlas Obscura, about the current state of the travel industry under the impact of COVID-19, how his company is pivoting to virtual experiences in response to the pandemic, and some predictions for the future of travel.

“Travel is not going to look like what it used to," Webster tells the lab, adding, "The notion of responsible travel that we are really behind has now expanded to mean something even bigger.” 

Atlas Obscura is an online magazine and travel company that catalogs unusual and obscure travel destinations via user-generated content. The editorial articles comprise a mixture of features and news articles on topics including history, science, and food, in addition to travel and exploration, as well as hosting a collaborative, definitive guide to the world's most obscure places.
