Beginning today, Meredith Corp. is launching the first of
four new podcasts from Allrecipes, Parents, Travel + Leisure and Southern Living.
Each new series will launch with 12 episodes that range in length from 20
minutes to 40 minutes. They will be available via Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other platforms.
Meredith’s editorial teams approached each new show as an opportunity for the
publisher to bring the brands to life in novel ways.
“Our editorial teams on each brand looked closely at the topics they know resonate with audiences, assessing content performance and
other research data, to inform their podcast ideas,” Mel Inman, vice president, digital content strategy and operations of Meredith Corp., told Publishers Daily.
“We also
took a look at the things those audiences were doing outside of our brands, their interests and passions, to create programming that would resonate — and give us new ways to have conversations
we hadn’t been having with them in other mediums.”

Allrecipes “Homemade” podcast, launching today, is hosted by author, home cook and Next Food Network finalist
Martie Duncan. She will be in discussion with noted chefs and food personalities like Guy Fieri, Rachael Ray and Carla Hall, about the memories and traditions they associate with their favorite
foods.
“Biscuits & Jam,” a podcast from Southern Living set to launch June 2, explores Southern culture and food with musicians like Gladys Knight, Martina McBride and
Willie Nelson.
“For Southern Living’s 'Biscuits & Jam,' we know from our own work that readers love food and its connection to home and family. We
know which musicians and personalities from the South are fan favorites — so we were confident the result of pairing those two would be a program that really spoke to Southern culture and those
who embrace it,” said Inman.
On June 9, Parents will launch “We are Family,” hosted by celebrity fitness entrepreneur and LGBTQ advocate Shaun T. Firness and
Parents.com’s Julia Dennison. The show takes a look at the diversity present in families today.
Travel + Leisure’s “Let’s Go Together” also explores
inclusivity and diversity. Host and travel expert Kellee Edwards explores how travel can alter our perspectives on culture and community. Stories offer a diverse range of voices, with a focus on
optimistic and uplifting news.
“Travel + Leisure’s ‘Lets Go Together’ was informed not just by our knowledge that our audiences love to travel, but that they
love to experience travel through others’ stories. That's proven by the success of video series like “Locals,” which debuted last year on Instagram, and where [the
brand’s] strong viewership embraces imagery and stories of places they hope to one day visit,” added Inman.
