RAM: Content on Demand

Recognizing that video content on mobile devices is the next step in the wireless revolution, Web video firm Narrowstep has released a technology platform that allows 24/7 television channels and pay-per-view video-on-demand to be delivered to mobile phones and devices. Based on Narrowstep's existing Television Operating System, which delivers TV content on the Web, the platform also provides detailed analytics, allowing owners to know where, when, and for how long users view their content. Ads can be inserted into the streams, with targeting based on geographical location or on an analysis of the user's viewing selections.

Currently, only Windows Media-enabled pocket PCs and smartphones can play video served by Narrowstep, and only one channel -- High.TV, an extreme sports and adventure channel is available for streaming.
