
The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), which in recent
years gradually transformed its board to be predominantly composed of CMOs (vs. mobile media suppliers), this morning unveiled a new board comprised of Chief Digital Officers of major marketers.
The MMA's new "CDO Board" is being chaired by Marc Speichert, the London-based CDO of consumer healthcare marketer GSK Consumer Healthcare.
The MMA said the CDO board will be focused more
on technical digital media issues that involve the "reengineering of businesses toward fully digital operations, from distribution to supply-chain reformation and from application of data to
installation of martech."
Speichert previously was a member of the MMA's global board when he was CMO of L’Oreal.
Interestingly, the MMA noted that there currently are "5,000
people with Chief Digital Officer in their title," according to LinkedIn data.
