MDC Partners is appointing Rebecca Routs as senior director for client relationships, a newly created role in which she will be responsible for leading key accounts for the global network.
Routs is tasked with connecting clients with expanded resources or new capabilities as necessary. Her priority will be on clients that work with more than one MDC agency and have global and/or multidisciplinary needs. She will continue to work from her San Francisco location, reporting to Nate Napier, managing director, key client relationships.
Her arrival comes nine months after MDC hired Julia Hammond to establish and lead a new division dedicated to global business, as the company seeks to better integrate its agency partners.
Since then, the company has also hired Chief Media Officer Deirdre McGlashan. The addition of Routs provides a central point of leadership to seamlessly access the agency network talent.

Previously, Routs focused on nurturing and expanding the Google business within S4, following the holding company’s acquisition of Firewood in early 2020. She started her agency-side career at AKQA, working on the Verizon business before joining KBS, the MDC agency that is now part of Forsman & Bodenfors.
While at KBS, Routs served as account supervisor on the BMW account, before joining Firewood in 2017.
