Peacock Is Finally On Amazon Fire TV

NBCUniversal has finally struck a deal to get its Peacock streaming service, which rolled out nationally last July, on Amazon Fire TVs, sticks and other devices, starting June 24.

The deal with Amazon also includes support for NBCU’s network apps including NBC, Bravo, NBC News, NBC Sports and Telemundo.

Amazon Fire TV has more than 50 million active users.

“We look forward to building on our existing partnership with Fire TV’s millions of customers and offering them Peacock’s undeniable line-up of original, library and film content,” said Matt Bond, chairman of content distribution at NBCUniversal in a statement. “This marks another great step in reaching audiences everywhere with the breadth of NBCUniversal’s full entertainment, film, Hispanic, news and sports portfolio.”

Peacock is accessible at no additional cost for users of NBCU parent Comcast's Xfinity X1 and Flex platforms and some Cox Contour customers.

Peacock's distribution partners also include Roku, Apple TV, iOS, Android, Android TV, Chromecast, Xbox One S and One X, Sony PlayStation 4 and 5, Vizio SmartCast and LG smart TVs and, as of last month, Samsung smart TVs.

The Amazon Fire TV distribution breakthrough comes just weeks before NBC is set to begin its coverage of the Tokyo Olympics.
