Security firm Armorblox has formed a strategic technology partnership with Intermedia in an effort to protect customers from advanced email attacks, the firm announced last week. 

The arrangement combines AI Guardian, a technology powered by Armorblox, with Intermedia Email Protection. 

The goal is to serve “tens of thousands of businesses and counting across industries and sizes,” states DJ Sampath, co-founder-CEO of Armorblox. 

AI Guardian analyzes signals across identity, behavior and language to help stop advanced email attacks, the company says. The data feeds into the platform’s algorithms, it adds.

The company says workflows enabling hybrid work can be hijacked by cybercriminals using impersonation and social engineering techniques.

“Integrating AI Guardian into our email security architecture adds a new level of protection to our robust email security strategy,” said Alex Smith, Intermedia vice president, product security and analytics.

T.J. Rylander, General Partner at investor Next47, adds: “Our decision to invest in Armorblox was driven by the magnitude of the customer problem and how the platform combined true enterprise-grade security with consumer-grade simplicity to solve the problem.”
