Streaming, Linear TV Group Cinedigm Sees Revenues Grow To $25.1M Over 6 Months

Cinedigm, a streaming/linear TV channel group, said revenue rose 90% to $25.1 million in its most recent six-month period ended September 30.

The company says revenues grew with the addition of new streaming channels as well as improved distribution on smart TV platforms and “deploying new advertising technology from streaming partner Amagi.”

This partnership, Cinedigm says, boosted advertising sales and lifted cost-per-thousand prices. Cinedigm also has advertising partnerships with various platforms, including Magnite, Comcast’s FreeWheel, Verizon Media and Xandr.

Ad-supported streaming channel revenues saw a 247% rise in the six-month period versus a year ago, the company says, with subscription streaming channel revenues 80% higher. It did not break down specific revenue dollar results.

During its most recent fiscal quarter, it has launched streaming platforms including Real Madrid TV and Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network, the company says.

Cinedigm's roster of nearly 20 networks include Fandor, Film Detective, Dove Channel, Lone Star, The Bob Ross Channel, Whistle TV, Game Toon, and Screambox.

Concerning key metrics, total subscribers for all its streaming platforms is now 717,000. The company hopes to grow to 40 million subscribers in the next three to five years.

For the first half of the year, total streaming minutes grew to 2.59 billion, from 778 million in the year-ago period.
Cinedigm says it has expanded the distribution of its subscription and linear channels to include Comcast Xfinity, Dish's Sling TV and Youtube TV.
