GroupM's Essence Taps Morrison For Global Marketing, Communications Role

GroupM’s Essence has appointed Maureen Morrison senior vice president-global marketing and communications.

Morrison will oversee the agency’s marketing, communications and editorial products across its 23 offices in 14 countries.

As part of the agency’s executive team, she will work with global leadership and in tandem with business development, the talent teams and regional leaders to drive revenue growth, thought leadership, recruitment, and develop industry relationships.

Morrison will also work with Essence’s clients, which include Google, NBCUniversal and Target, on messaging and launch strategies.  She replaces Sam Weston, who earlier in 2021 joined GroupM's global marketing and communications team.

Previously Morrison ran her own strategic advisory firm, where she worked with clients on brand positioning, partnerships, editorial content and communications strategies. Earlier she was a journalist at Advertising Age, covering agencies, digital advertising, telecom, and food marketing.
