Spellbinding Lea Seydoux Stars In New LV Fragrance Ad

Actress Léa Seydoux stars in a campaign for Louis Vuitton’s new fragrance, Spell on You.

The ad, done in-house, features Seydoux walking around in her underwear as she gets in bed with a man, embraces him for a while -- and then heads off as she slyly smiles at the camera.

Jean-Baptiste Mondino directed the ad, which is billed as an “elegant take on a passionate love story.” The action of the ad is scored to Nina Simone’s rendition of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ 1956 hit “I Put a Spell on You.”

French Master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud--the man behind LV’s scents—told Elle that the inspiration for the scent is less Paris than Grasse. Belletrud said he named the scent after the song, one of his favorites.

The film is as much an ad for the pink-hued fragrance as for Seydoux, who recently appeared in the James Bond film "No Time to Die" and Wes Anderson’s "The French Dispatch." Cary Joji Fukunaga, the director of "No Time To Die," told The New York Times, “She is paradoxically equal parts elegant (almost catlike, quiet, observing, sleekly moving through a scene) and truckdriver.”
