Wunderman Thompson Showcases Metaverse Platform At CES

Were you planning to attend this year’s CES in Las Vegas? If, like many, you opted to avoid the event in person but attend it digitally then you may be interested in attending Wunderman Thompson’s Metaverse.

The branded metaverse will premiere at 11 am PST on Jan. 6 during a session led by Emma Chiu, global director of Wunderman Thompson Intelligence.

A 30-second video gives users a preview of the experience. It includes a tour of the virtual space, including moving dolphins and swimming fish.

Wunderman Thompson partnered with Odyssey to bring the platform to life.

The move comes just two months after Facebook changed its name to Meta and shared its vision for the metaverse. ”In the metaverse, you’ll be able to do almost anything you can imagine — get together with friends and family, work, learn, play, shop, create — as well as completely new experiences that don’t really fit how we think about computers or phones today,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in an explanatory post.

Wunderman Thompson also launched ‘Into the Metaverse’ in 2021, an in-depth report that outlines what the metaverse is, how it’s changing people’s lives and creating new opportunities, and why brands need to pay attention. The Wunderman Thompson metaverse experience parallels the points made in the report and Emma Chiu’s session at CES.

Given brand interest other agencies are also creating metaverse platforms, IPG’s Mediahub being a recent example.
