Keith Bowen Named President, Altice News & Advertising, Cheddar Founder Jon Steinberg Leaving

Altice USA has promoted Keith Bowen from chief revenue officer to president, Altice News & Advertising. 

Bowen will oversee Altice USA news brands Cheddar News, News 12 and i24NEWS, as well as the a4 advanced advertising and data business. 

Bowen will replace Jon Steinberg, who will serve as an advisor to Bowen before leaving the company in the spring to “return to his entrepreneurial roots,” according to the announcement. 

Steinberg founded Cheddar in 2016 and joined Altice USA in 2019 as part of the company’s acquisition of Cheddar News. 

Bowen, who will now report to Altice USA CEO Dexter Goei,  joined Altice USA in 2019 as chief revenue officer (CRO) for Altice News and later also for a4. 

Previously, he served as CRO for Spectrum Reach, and in similar roles for Tribune Media and Urban One (formerly Radio One). 

Altice USA has also promoted Kristin Malaspina to general manager of Cheddar News and senior vice president, distribution, Altice News. 

Malspina, previously senior VP of marketing and partnerships for Altice News & Advertising, and oversee Cheddar News’ content, growth and operations, while continuing to lead the distribution teams for all Altice News brands. She will report to Bowen. 

She previously worked for Starz and at Time Warner Cable/Spectrum News in various executive marketing and distribution positions.
