Agency Communications Vet Brenton Returns To Agency-Side, Joins IPG Mediabrands

After a brief stint on the supply-side working on the marketing team at Facebook, Isabelle Brenton has returned to the agency business, joining IPG Mediabrands as senior vice president-global corporate communications.

She succeeds Rahel Rasu, who joined Accenture Song as managing director of global interactive marketing and communications.

Brenton, who reports to Global CMO Lynn Lewis, most recently served as head of marketing at conversational commerce startup Connectly.ai, previously held senior communications roles at several top agencies including Publicis Media's Razorfish and GroupM's Essence before joining Facebook as industry marketing lead in 2019.

Her appointment marks a return to the holding company. Brenton began her agency career as an account executive at IPG's Weber Shandwick unit.

"This role feels like a culmination of my career - having spent time both agency and publisher-side - and I’ve always been drawn to the holistic side of the media business," Brenton tells MediaPost, adding, "Having the opportunity to work at a powerhouse network like MediaBrands that touches everything from data & analytics to content creation and beyond, and under the tutelage of an industry icon like Lynn is truly a dream."

Brenton says she has long admired Mediabrands for "its focus on media for good," including initiatives such as its "Equity Upfronts" and its MRI (Media Responsibility Index) reports.

"They’re really doing the work to create more equity and accountability across the media landscape and I’m honored to help shine a light on it," she says.
