Grid Starts An Email Newsletter On Health

Grid, a publication devoted to news analysis, has launched a weekly healthcare newsletter called Grid Health.

Appearing each Wednesday, the email letter will explore health through what Grid calls a disciplinary lens.

Grid Health will explore major health topics, including the fallout from the Dobbs decision,  workforce issues and burnout in the healthcare industry, the outlook for COVID-19 this fall, and inequality in health overall amid the growing impacts of climate change.

The newsletter will be headed by Lauren Morello, Grid’s health and science editor, and Jon Lambert, public health reporter. But the entire Grid staff will contribute.

That team hopes to “surprise and delight by looking at health through different, unexpected, and often broader angles,” Morello states. “Health doesn’t stop at the hospital door.”

The first issue examines whether the Biden administration’s new billion-dollar health research agency. ARPA-H, can deliver on finding solutions to the nation’s most pressing health problems.

In addition, it will look at "‘rainbow fentanyl," how pet medicine is looking more like human medicine, and the challenge for New England as it braces for higher heating prices this winter caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

This is the first expansion of Grid since the launch of its daily email newsletter in January.

“We’ve seen a lot of success with our daily newsletter since our initial launch earlier this year, which is why we are eager to grow our portfolio with Grid Health,” said Lauren Morello.

Last week, Grid launched "Bad Takes," a podcast hosted by Executive Editor Laura McGann.
