New Beginning For Big Day Founders Sayn-Wittgenstein, Brown And Nimry

Three agency veterans have launched a new San Diego-based shop they’re calling Big Day.

The founders include Peter Sayn-Wittgenstein, Kristie Brown and Ahab Nimry.

Previously Sayn-Wittgenstein was the executive creative director at Mirum/Wunderman Thompson in San Diego. There he led U.S. creative for Shell retail, ran Royal Caribbean’s B2B account and oversaw global digital creative for Rolex. Earlier he served at MacLaren McCann, Proximity Worldwide and SapientNitro and was a TV writer before shifting to the advertising business.

Brown was a colleague of Sayn-Wittgenstein at Mirum/Wunderman Thompson where she served as managing director. She led several client relationships, including Qualcomm, Royal Caribbean and Taylor Guitars. Prior to that she worked at Critical Mass in Los Angeles and Austin on USAA, AT&T and Dell. She also has a background in sports marketing, and e-commerce.

Nimry previously ran Gut Branding in San Diego where he did product and packaging design and campaign work for companies and agencies like BBDO and Phenomenon. Prior to that, he worked at Vitro, Waylon and in-house at Bass Pro Shops. He’s worked with brands like Budweiser, Ford, Pepsi, Disney, NFL and Shell.

Sayn-Wittgenstein said, “Today’s a big day and so is every day if you want it to be. It’s a simple ethos, but one that shapes the way we approach pretty much everything. Especially decisions that influence our company culture.”

“Waking up and being able to work on the projects you want to with the people you want to is huge,” he adds. “It's the difference between being excited on Sunday night because you want to share the ideas that came to you over the weekend…and breaking out in hives because of what awaits you Monday morning.”
