Americans Believe Food Inflation Is Higher Than Reality

Americans believe that food inflation has hit 22.8%, 9.7 points higher than the 13.1% annual rate reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and 5.1% higher than in February, according to Dunnhumby, a global customer data science company. “Dunnhumby first reported on the mismatch between consumer sentiment and reality regarding food inflation some seven months ago,” per Supermarket News.
