Aiming to drive more referral traffic to creators on its
platform, TikTok has partnered with popular link-in-bio tool Linktree.
Together, they will provide TikTok creators with additional referral link options that can be integrated directly into
their TikTok profile.
TikTok creators are accustomed to embedding Linktree links into their TikTok bios, but the
new “TikTok Profile Kit” will enhance the experience, further bridging the gap between both platforms.
Profile Kit is part of the TikTok for Developers Program, which includes tools like an SDK Login Kit that allows creators to securely sign into third-party platforms through their TikTok
login credentials and share videos from their profiles.
The new Linktree offering invites creators to sign
into their TikTok accounts via Linktree for the first time, and to upload as many as six videos in their Linktree display.
According to Linktree,
“creators can choose to display their latest or most popular videos, or hand select the videos they want to display within the link-in-bio. People can browse a creator’s TikTok profile and
play their videos natively within Linktree without navigating away from the app, adding another touchpoint between creators and their community.”
Linktree also states
that TikTok is one of the most linked-to platforms from its tool, with Linktree profiles driving over five million TikTok views per day.
Earlier this month, Instagram, who has used Linktree in the past, quietly began testing its own feature
allowing users to add multiple links to their bios. Though Meta has not provided any more information on a potential roll out.
