Former Ogilvy, WPP Executive Tro Piliguian Dies At 75

Former Ogilvy and WPP executive Tro Piliguian died on October 13, in Montreal. He passed away at home after a battle with Parkinson's and lung cancer. He was 75. 

A native of Egypt, Piliguian moved to Montreal in 1963. He started his career in TV production before founding ad agency L' Academie, with two partners.  

In 1990 he became chairman of Ogilvy & Mather's Canadian offices. In 1994 he was named CEO of Ogilvy’s North Amercian operations and Chairman of its New York Office. He then rose to the New York scene in 1994 to head Ogilvy's North American operations as CEO & Chairman of their flagship office.

He later joined parent company WPP as global COO, retiring in 2012. 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Anna, a son, Aris, a daughter, Lisa and sisters Nayiri Hampartsoumian and Araxi Ohanian.
