Just an Online Minute... Yahoo on Top

The numbers are in, and once again it’s Yahoo! on top. The company today happily announced that it has again earned the top ranking as the world's most trafficked Internet destination, according to the Nielsen//NetRatings' November 2001 Global Internet Index. Based on the Index, Yahoo! is the global leader in unique audience, reach and page views for home users for the 18th consecutive month.

According to Nielsen//NetRatings, Yahoo!'s unique audience increased to more than 132 million consumers in November, which represents more than 50% of the total at home active Internet universe.

Also, Nielsen//Netratings says that Yahoo! extended its reach to 52.4% of the world's total at home Internet population, which is 5% greater than its nearest competitor MSN and almost 12% more than AOL.

According to the Index, consumers currently spend more time on Yahoo! than any other portal. Yahoo! consumers around the world spent approximately 1 hour and 9 minutes on Yahoo! during November, compared to 52 minutes on MSN and 40 minutes on AOL.

Yahoo! is also recognized as one of the country's most reputable companies, according to the results from the third annual Harris Interactive corporate reputation survey. Conducted by Harris Interactive and the Reputation Institute, Yahoo! is the highest ranked Internet company on the survey and was named the 32nd most reputable company in the country. The study cited emotional appeal, quality of products and services, and brand recognition as factors in the rankings, which was conducted via an online survey taken by 21,630 people in October 2001.

Hey, at least the big boys are doing well…
