Comedy Central is having the last laugh with its new MotherLoad broadband channel. It not only provides an expanded free showcase for the cable channel's popular original programs, including "The
Daily Show" and "Chappelle's Show," but it's giving a boost to exclusive Web-only content, including the new series "I Love the Thirties," "Odd Todd," "Meet the Creeps," and "Jump Cuts." Also included
on the site are standup performances, sneak previews, games, and a contest section called "Timewasters."
More than 450 new and archived clips are available on the site, each running between
two and eight minutes. Users view a 15- to 30-second pre-roll ad prior to each series of three clips they watch. Advertisers include Energizer, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Broadcast sponsors, such as "The
Colbert Report's" Allstate, receive branding with the show's photo-link.
