A Brownie With Attitude: Magnolia Bakery Features Talking Snacks

Magnolia Bakery, a New York City institution since the ‘90s, is running an ad aimed at people nationwide who would like to get the bakery’s sweet desserts shipped to their home.

The ad, via Public Display of Affection, features talking snacks (rendered so by stop-motion animation). As they land on somebody’s countertop, a cup of pudding bemoans “a flight with no snacks?” and a brownie replies, “We are the snacks, Pudding.”

As they realize that they’re not in New York, a cookie says “Wow, off-Broadway.”

The ad comes after Magnolia updated its logo earlier this year to be more palatable to online customers. Magnolia also updated its website last October.
