YouTube Launches Shoppable Shorts Challenge For Creators

YouTube is launching a shoppable Shorts challenge that will take place during its holiday event, From YouTube to You.

The event launched this week with several goals. One goal is to make YouTube the one-stop shop for all holiday shopping news, not just in the U.S., but worldwide.

This marks the second YouTube Shopping on Shorts Hashtag Challenge. This year, creators are able to offer exclusive discounts for shopping through YouTube shorts.

Once Shorts viewers tag #BlogilatesPlankChallenge, users can directly purchase products such as the popular Popflex Yoga Mat for an exclusive 25% discount, only available through YouTube Shorts.

This week more than 30 of YouTube’s biggest creators such as MrBeast, and Simply Nailogical, as well as brands including POPFLEX, Ulta Beauty, and TULA Skincare will partner with YouTube for 10 days of shoppable content. Some will even kick off exclusive Shorts Challenges with fun prizes and discounts.

Creators also now have an option to hold Q&A sessions with their viewers during their live shopping events for the first time.

Those wanting to join the challenge can do so by remixing the original audio used in Blogilates' launch video, record themselves attempting the plank challenge, tag #BlogilatesPlankChallenge and upload to YouTube Shorts.

The #BlogilatesPlankChallenge is a sound-driven full body-plank mobility challenge created by Cassey Ho of Blogilates. The creator has 7.65 million subscribers kicked off the challenge on Monday on YouTube Shorts. Ten lucky challenge participants will each win $500 in cash.

Winners will be announced by the brand on YouTube after the challenge ends on November 28.  In addition to Ho, eight Shorts creators will launch the challenge to their followers. Those include Rebecca Zamolo, The Beverly Halls, The Fitness Marshall, The McCartys, Happy Kelli, Bully Juice, Brooke Monk, and Cassidy Thompson.
