Apple has launched three security features that it says will protect users from threats to their data in the cloud. These presumably will create a safer digital ecosystem that will help email marketers and all brands.  

The three new tools are:

iMessage Contact Key Verification -- This allows users who face extraordinary digital threats — such as journalists, human rights activists, and members of government —to further verify that they are messaging only with the people they intend.

Individuals who enable this function receive automatic alerts if an advanced adversary or state-sponsored attacker succeeds in breaching cloud servers and inserting their own device to eavesdrop on encrypted communications.

Security Keys -- With 95% of active iCloud accounts using two-factor authentication for Apple ID, this new tool will allow them to use third-party hardware security keys to enhance this protection. It is designed for users who face concerted threats to their online accounts, such as celebrities, journalists, and members of government

Advanced Data Protection for iCloud -- Advanced Data Protection is “Apple’s highest level of cloud data security, giving users the choice to protect the vast majority of their most sensitive iCloud data with end-to-end encryption so that it can only be decrypted on their trusted devices,” says Ivan Krsti, Apple’s head of Security Engineering and Architecture. “For users who opt in, Advanced Data Protection keeps most iCloud data protected even in the case of a data breach in the cloud.”
