Leadership Change At GroupM's OOH Agency Kinetic

Keith Kaplan, Global CEO at GroupM’s out-of-home agency Kinetic stepped down from his post last month, the agency has confirmed.

There are no current plans to replace Kaplan and the agency will be overseen by Andrew Meaden, global head of investment at GroupM and Nick Parker, Global Chief Operating Officer at Kinetic.

Kaplan joined the agency two years ago after serving as advisor and investor in Outfront Media. Earlier, he helped build a global ad network at Adconion (now Amobee) and led global client and agency development for Yahoo.

Parker was promoted to COO in 2018 and has served from more than three decades at the agency.

Meaden has been with GroupM for nearly 13 years and in his current role for three years. Earlier he served at GroupM agency Mindshare for a decade.

It’s been a bumpy ride for Out-of-Home media since the pandemic began, falling about 25% in 2020. GroupM’s own forecast indicates that global OOH expenditure revenues will not surpass 2019 levels until 2024, although some markets, including the U.S. have already done so.
