KFC is targeting January as “me” time with an offer to enjoy a $5 Pot Pie.

A new ad, via MullenLowe and Spark Foundry, shows a woman enjoying the KFC Pot Pie by herself as her family tries to remind her about holiday de-decorating.

“Like I said,” the voiceover adds, “just me, myself and my Pot Pie.”

A similar ad, from the male point of view, shows a guy enjoying a Pot Pie as he sings a song to the tune of  “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” that instead celebrates getting one’s chores done and eating a meal.

Consider KFC’s ad as the first volley in what's likely to be a drawn-out fight for 2023 recessionary fast-food advertising.
